Reference data is information that is either required by the system or is used to create transactions. When you press the Reference Data button on the navigation bar, the Reference Data Area displays.
The Reference Data Area is a listing page that allows you to work with each of the different types of reference data defined in the system. In the Reference Data Area, you can click on a reference data item to view the item's detail page. If you have appropriate security rights, you can then modify or delete the reference data. If you do not have minimum security rights to reference data, you will not be able to access the Reference Data area.
The following types of reference data are maintained in the system:
When a user selects any reference data from their organisation while using subsidiary access, the reference data is displayed in read-only mode and cannot be modified. Therefore, the user can only modify reference data, owned by the child organisation, when using subsidiary access. This restriction applies to these reference data types: Address Book, Phrases, Security Profiles, Instrument Templates, PO Definitions, and LC Creation Rules.
You enter and save address book in the Reference Data Area with Address Book. After you have saved a party, you can reference the party on transaction pages.
