Creating Payment File Definitions

Users with security rights to maintain Payment File Definitions can create them through the Reference Data Area. These Payment File Definitions can then be used to create Payment files and upload the same in the Trade Services system.

To create a Payment File Definition :

Press the Reference Data navigation button from any page displaying the navigation bar.
The Reference Data Area displays.
Select Payment File Definitions from the Show drop-down list.
Press New button to Create a Payment File definition. If you do not have security rights to maintain Payment File Definitions, this button does not appear on the page.
The Payment File Definition page appears.
Enter Payment File definition information into the page. Required information is indicated by a red asterisk (*).
While creating the Payment file definition, the Payment method, Date format and the format of the files must be mentioned.
Based on the file format and the different fields required in the file, helps in creating the required payment file.
The User can check the box where the field is required and Data required for each of the fields he/she wishes to have in the Payment file definition.

8. If the user selects the “Delimited File Format” radio button, then a drop-down list of available delimited formats will become accessible next to the radio button and the user will need to select a specific format.

If the user selects the “Fixed File Format”, the system will present the user with the fields that are available in the current Fixed File Format, however the user will be able to determine the size of most of the fields.
The file order of the fields can be changed using the Update button.
After you are finished entering data, press Save & Close.

The new Payment file definition is saved and the Payment File Definition redisplays.
