Creating Instrument Templates

New Template Selector

The New Template Selector page displays when you press the New button from the Template List page. This procedural page collects information from you about the new  template you are creating, and then allows you to proceed to the next step in the template creation process.

The fields and controls contained in the New Template, Step 1 page are described below.

Field/Control

Description

Template Name

The name of the template. This field can contain up to 25 characters and is a required field.

Template Group

Selecting the Template group from the drop down will assign the new template to the template group.

Specify if this template should be an Express or Fixed Payment Template

Express Template - Select this checkbox to create an express template.

This only displays for Approval to Pay, Import LC, Outgoing Standby LC (Simple), and Request to Advise instrument types.

Fixed Payment Template - Select this checkbox to create a Fixed Payment Template.

This only appears for Payment instrument types if the user has the appropriate security rights.

For the new instrument template, specify if you want to copy information from an existing instrument or template

Selecting one of the following three options for creating the new template indicates how you want to create the new template:

Copy from existing instrument - Select this option button to copy information from an existing instrument to create the new template.

Copy from existing template- Select this option button to copy information from an existing template to create the new template.

Use blank Instrument template - Select this option button to start with a blank transaction form to create the new template. If you select this option, you must also select an instrument type from the <Select instrument type> drop-down list.

You must select one of the above options before proceeding to the next step of the template creation process.

If you selected Use blank Instrument template, you must also select an instrument type for the template form. Available instrument types include all instrument types for which you have create/modify security rights.

Pressing this button displays the next page in the template creation process. The next page that appears depends on the template creation option you selected, as indicated below:

If you selected Copy from existing instrument, the Instrument Search page displays.

If you selected Copy from existing template, the Template Search page displays.

If you selected Use blank Instrument template, a blank instrument template form appears for the type of instrument you selected from the <Select instrument type> drop-down list.

Cancel

Selecting this link cancels the template creation process and redisplays the Template List.
