Detail pages are pages on which you enter data for a new item, such as a transaction, reference data item, or message. These pages are also used to provide you with a detailed view of an item appearing in a listing page. Detail pages can be editable or read-only, depending on your security rights and the status of the data in the page.

The following table provides information on working with information displayed in detail pages. Not all actions are available in all detail pages, as indicated in the activity description.

Description |
Display the listing page from which you accessed a detail item |
Click on the heading hyperlink in the left-most area of the page heading. For example, from the Address Book page, you can click on the Parties > hyperlink in the page heading to close the record without saving it and display the Reference Data Area with Parties. |
Go directly to a specific section of the detail page |
Click on the section hyperlink directly below the page heading. For example, the section hyperlinks shown below are available from the Address Book page: See an example of section hyperlinks from a detail page. This action is only available for multi-part detail pages displayed as a scrolling page. |
Press Save & Close or Save, which is available from both the page heading bar and at the bottom of the page (or at the end of the last section, for multi-part detail pages). The Save button does not display if the page is in read-only mode. Warning: You must press Save & Close or Save for your page data to be saved. If you have made changes and press Close, or use your browser's back or forward buttons to display other pages in the system, your data changes will not be saved. You will then need to redisplay the page and re-enter your changes. |
