The New Template, Step 1 page displays when you press the Create Template button from the Reference Data Area with Instrument Templates page. This procedural page collects information from you about the new template you are creating, and then allows you to proceed to the next step in the template creation process.
The fields and controls contained in the New Template, Step 1 page are described below.

Template Name |
The name of the template. This field can contain up to 25 characters and is a required field. |

For the new instrument template, specify if you want to copy information from an existing instrument or template |
Selecting one of the following three options for creating the new template indicates how you want to create the new template:
You must select one of the above options before proceeding to the next step of the template creation process. |

If you selected Use a blank form for the new template, you must also select an instrument type for the template form. Available instrument types include all instrument types for which you have create/modify security rights. |

Next Step |
Pressing this button displays the next page in the template creation process. The next page that appears depends on the template creation option you selected, as indicated below:

Cancel |
Pressing this button cancels the template creation process and redisplays the Reference Data Area with Instrument Templates. |
