Viewing Mail Messages

Users with appropriate security rights can view the mail messages stored in the system through the Mail page in the Messages area. While you are viewing mail messages, you can perform actions available in all listing pages. See Working with Listing Pages for more information.

To view mail messages:

  1. Press the Messages navigation button from any page displaying the navigation bar.

    The Messages area displays with the Mail page active and showing the default work view in the Show Mail for drop-down list. Your selection in this drop-down list determines what mail messages are displayed in the Mail page listing. Your default work view is defined in your user profile and can be changed by users with security rights to maintain users.

    In addition to the general actions available in all listing pages, specific actions are available on the Mail page. See the Mail page help topic for a description of each field and control available on the page.

  2. Click on one of the Mail Folders on the left side of the Mail page, depending on the type of mail messages you want to view. Click here to read about the contents of each folder.

    The contents of the mail folder you selected displays in the listing area of the Mail page.

  3. In the Subject column, click on the link for the message you want to view.

    The Mail Message page displays with the details of the message you selected.

  1. After you are finished viewing and/or acting on the mail message, you can navigate to any other area of the system or press Logout to log out of the system.
