Issue Loan Request

The Issue Loan Request page allows you to enter information for a Loan Request issue transaction.

Different action buttons appear on the page (Attach a Document, Save, Save & Close, Route Transaction, Verify Data, and Close), depending on the transaction's status and/or whether the transaction is in edit mode or read-only mode. This page appears in read-only mode if you have view only security rights to instruments, if the transaction has any status other than "Started", or if the instrument was not created by your organisation (if your organisation has subsidiaries). The Issue Loan Request page includes the following sections:

 Repair Reason

This section will be displayed on the instrument if the corporation is using Checker Authorisation for this instrument type and the instrument has been sent for repair during the authorisation process.  Prior to being processed by the bank, this appears as an unnumbered section at the top of the instrument.  Once processed by the bank, it is added as a numbered section at the bottom of the instrument.

Terms

The Terms section of the Loan Request page contains basic information about the Loan Request transaction. The fields and controls contained in the Terms section are described below.

Field/Control

Borrower*

 

Search Image Link

Pressing this image link displays the Party Search page, where you can select the Borrower for the instrument from a list of non-bank parties. After you choose a party from the Party Search page, the transaction page redisplays with the Borrower text box loaded with the party's information in read-only form. A Borrower selection is required.

To change the Borrower information in the text box, press Search Image Link again to select a new party.

Borrower's Reference Number

Your reference number for the instrument. This field can contain up to 30 characters.

 

Loan Request Details

The Loan Request Details section of the Issue Loan Request page contains information about the amount being requested, as well as the goods that will be paid for from the Loan Request proceeds (if applicable). The fields and controls contained in the Loan Request Details section are described below.

Field/Control

Description

Loan Start Date*

The date when the loan will begin.  To enter the loan start date, select a day, month, and year from the appropriate drop-down lists.  This date is required.

Currency*

The currency in which the loan amount is denominated. To enter the currency, select one from this drop-down list. A currency selection is required.

Amount (if known)

The amount of the loan. This field can contain up to 22 characters.

 

Non-editable and auto populate

Loan Type*

Indicates whether the loan is a Trade Loan, Export Loan or Import Loan. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Export Loan - Indicates that the loan relates to the export of goods.
  • Import Loan - Indicates that the loan relates to the import of goods.
  • Invoice Financing – Indicates that the loan relates to financing of invoices.

If the loan is unrelated to the export or import of goods, a Loan Type of Import Loan should be selected.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Loan Terms*

Indicates when presentations will be payable under the terms of the instrument. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • At fixed maturity date - The loan matures at a fixed date. The date should be entered in a mm/dd/yyyy format or dd/mm/yyyy format as per user requirements.
  • ____ days from the Loan Start Date - Indicates that the loan matures a certain number of days after the Loan Start Date. To specify this option, enter a number of days (up to 3 characters) in the text box.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Interest to be Paid*

Indicates when interest accrued during the loan period will be paid. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • In Arrears - Indicates that the interest charges will be paid at the end of the loan period.
  • In Advance - Indicates that the interest charges will be paid at the beginning of the loan period.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Shipping and Goods Details

Indicates where the point of origination/departure for the goods, if applicable.  Each of these fields can contain up to 65 characters.

To:
Port of Discharge /
Airport of Destination

To:
Place of Final  Destination / Delivery / For Transport To

Indicates the final destination for the goods, if applicable.  Each of these fields can contain up to 65 characters.

Vessel Name / Carrier

Indicates the name of the vessel carrying the goods, as well as the name of the carrier, if applicable.  This field can contain up to 40 characters.

Bill of Lading / Air Waybill

Indicates the reference number for an applicable Bill of Lading or Air Waybill, if one exists. This field can contain up to 40 characters.

Enter a description of the goods

The description of the goods being financed. To enter text, you can either type directly into the text area, or add a phrase from the dropdown list to the text area. The text area can contain up to 6500 characters.

Text entered in this text area appears in a fixed-space font (for example, "goods description text")  so that the goods description can be formatted into columns.

 

Loan Instructions

The Loan Instructions section of the Issue Loan Request page contains information about the proceeds of the Loan Request issue transaction. Either the Export Loan Instructions section, or the Import Loan Instructions will be displayed based on the Loan Type, Export Loan or Import Loan, selected in the Loan Request Details section.

Receivables/Payables Trade Loan Instructions

The fields and controls contained in the Export Loan Instructions section are described below.

Loan Proceeds

 

Currency of Payment*

The currency in which the loan proceeds will be denominated. To enter the currency, select one from this drop-down list. A currency selection is required.

Amount

The amount of the loan proceeds. This field can contain up to 22 characters.

Apply loan proceeds to*

Indicates how the loan proceeds will be paid/disbursed. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Account - Indicates that the loan proceeds are to be credited to an account held by the Borrower. If you select this option, be sure to choose an account from the drop-down list.
  • Beneficiary - Indicates that the loan proceeds should go to the designated Beneficiary. If you select this option, the funds will be credited to the specified account.  

    If you select a Beneficiary by searching for and selecting a party in the
    Party Search page, you can choose from one of the account options, or manually enter a new account for the Beneficiary.

    You may also specify the Beneficiary's Bank, either by manually entering the information or by pressing the Search Image Link button and searching for and selecting a bank-type party in the
    Party Search page.
  • Multiple Beneficiaries

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Beneficiary Details

 Following details related to the beneficiary can be specified in this section -Beneficiary Name, Beneficiary's Account Number, Address, Reference, Bank/Branch Code, Bank Sort Code, Beneficiary Bank Name, Beneficiary Bank Address, Regulatory Reporting Details like Central Bank Reporting, Reporting Code 1..2

Invoice Details

The details of invoice/es are entered in the text field provided.

Loan Maturity

Indicates how the loan will be repaid at loan maturity. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Debit the Borrower's account - Indicates that one of the Borrower's accounts will be used to repay the loan. If you select this option, please choose an account from the drop-down list.
  • Other - If other arrangements will be made, select this option and enter the details in the text area.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

 

Export Loan Instructions

The fields and controls contained in the Export Loan Instructions section are described below.

Currency of Payment*

The currency in which the loan proceeds will be denominated. To enter the currency, select one from this drop-down list. A currency selection is required.

Amount

The amount of the loan proceeds. This field can contain up to 22 characters.

Type of Transaction being Financed*

Indicates the type of export transaction that is being financed. To specify, select on of the following options:

  • Goods Under Export LC - Indicates that the loan is financing the export of goods under an Export LC      
    • Related Instrument ID - If there is an Export LC related to the goods being financed, you can manually enter the Instrument ID in the field, or press the Search Instruments button to display the Instrument Search page, where you can locate and select a related instrument.
  • Goods Under Export Collection - Indicates that the loan is financing the export of goods under an Export Collection.    
    • Related Instrument ID - If there is an Export Collection related to the goods being financed, you can manually enter the Instrument ID in the field, or press the Search Instruments button to display the Instrument Search page, where you can locate and select a related instrument.
  • Standalone Pre-Shipment Financing (not under export LC/Collection) – Indicates that the loan is a pre-shipment finance.
  • Other - Select this radio button if the loan is financing the export of goods under some other arrangement and enter the details in this text area

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Apply loan proceeds to*

Indicates how the loan proceeds will be paid/disbursed. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Account - Indicates that the loan proceeds are to be credited to an account held by the Borrower. If you select this option, be sure to choose an account from the drop-down list.
  • Beneficiary - Indicates that the loan proceeds should go to the designated Beneficiary. If you select this option, the funds will be credited to the specified account.  

    If you select a Beneficiary by searching for and selecting a party in the
    Party Search page, you can choose from one of the account options, or manually enter a new account for the Beneficiary.

    You may also specify the Beneficiary's Bank, either by manually entering the information or by pressing the Search Image Link button and searching for and selecting a bank-type party in the
    Party Search page.
  • Other - If other arrangements are required for the loan proceeds, select this option and enter the details in this text area.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

Loan Maturity

 

 

Indicates how the loan will be repaid at loan maturity. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Offset Against Export LC / Collection Instrument - Indicates that the proceeds from an Export LC or Export Collection Instrument will be used to repay the loan.
  • Other - If other arrangements will be made, select this option and enter the details in the text area.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

 

Import Loan Instructions

The fields and controls contained in the Import Loan Instructions section are described below.

Apply loan proceeds to*

Indicates how the loan proceeds will be paid/disbursed. To specify, select one of the following options:

  • Related Instrument(s) - Indicates that the loan proceeds are to be applied to one or more related instruments.

    If there is only one related instrument, you can manually enter the instrument ID in the field, or press the Search Instruments button to display the
    Instrument Search page, where you can locate and select a related instrument.

    If there are multiple related instruments, click on ‘Add Multiple Instrument IDs’ and
     manually enter the instrument IDs in the pop-up that appears and save. This text area can contain up to 6500 characters.
  • Account - Indicates that the loan proceeds are to be credited to an account held by the Borrower. If you select this option, be sure to choose an account from the drop-down list.
  • Beneficiary - Indicates that the loan proceeds should go to the designated Beneficiary. If you select this option, the funds will be credited to the specified account.  

    If you select a Beneficiary by searching for and selecting a party in the
    Party Search page, you can choose from one of the account options, or manually enter a new account for the Beneficiary.

    You may also specify the Beneficiary's Bank, either by manually entering the information or by pressing the Search Image Link and searching for and selecting a bank-type party in the
    Party Search page.
  • Other - If other arrangements are required for the loan proceeds, select this option and enter the details in this text area.

Invoice Financing Instructions

The fields and controls contained in the Invoice Financing Loan Instructions section are described below.

Type of Transaction being Financed*

Indicates the type of export transaction that is being financed. To specify, select on of the following options:

  • Receivables-Financing- Indicates that the loan is financing receivables.
  • Buyer-Request Financing for Seller - Indicates that the loan is financing the seller at the request of the buyer. The details of seller and his bank are to be furnished.

A selection in this radio button set is required.

  • If you select buyer-request financing the seller, you may specify the seller either by manually entering the information or by pressing the Search Image Link button and searching for the seller

    You may also specify the Seller's Bank, either by manually entering the information or by pressing the Search Image Link button and searching for and selecting a bank-type party in the Party Search page.

  • Finance Percentage - indicates the percentage of Invoice Financing for Receivable financing defined in Trading partner rule.

    This Finance Percentage is a display only field.

Invoice Details

The details of invoice/es are entered in the text field provided

Loan Maturity

  • Debit the Borrower's account - Indicates that one of the Borrower's accounts will be used to repay the loan. If you select this option, please choose an account from the drop-down list.

Charges and Interest

The fields and controls contained in the Charges And Interest section are described below.

Field/Control

Description

Borrower’s Debit Account for Charges*

Indicates which one of the Borrower's accounts will be used to pay charges for the loan.

Borrower’s Debit Account for Interest*

Indicates which one of the Borrower's accounts will be used to pay interest for the loan.

An Account selection in each of these fields is required.

 

 

Foreign Exchange Conversion Details

The fields and controls contained in the Foreign Exchange Conversion Details section are described below.

Exchange Rate Details

 

Bank to Book Exchange Rate

Selecting this check box indicates that a spot/market rate will be used for the proceeds of the Loan Request.

Forward Exchange Contract (FEC)

Selecting this check box indicates that a Forward Exchange Contract (FEC) will be referenced for the instrument.  If so, please enter the FEC details (Covered by FEC Number, Amount of FEC, Rate of FEC, and the Maturity Date of FEC).

Covered by FEC Number

The Forward Exchange Contract (FEC) covering the settlement, if the instrument is in a currency other than the Applicant's base currency. To specify, enter an FEC number into the text box. This field can contain up to 14 characters.

Amount of FEC (in the settlement/loan currency)

The amount of the FEC. To specify, enter the amount into the text box. This field can contain up to 19 characters.

Rate of FEC

The rate of the FEC. To specify, enter the rate into the text box. This field can contain up to 14 characters, including a decimal character. The format for the rate you enter is 12345.12345678 (5 characters to the left of the decimal and 8 characters to the right of the decimal).

Maturity Date of FEC

The maturity date for the forward exchange contract. To enter the maturity date, select a day, month, and year from the appropriate drop-down lists.

Other

Select this check box and enter any additional exchange rate details (e.g. other exchange rates and their corresponding reference numbers, multiple sets of FEC details, or other information), if applicable.

 

Instructions to Bank

The Instructions to Bank section of the Issue Loan Request page contains instructions to your bank for the Loan Request issue transaction.

The Instructions to Bank section contains a text area to provide instructions to your bank. To enter the bank instructions text, type directly into the text area. This field can contain up to 1000 characters.

Internal Instructions

The Internal Instructions section of the Issue Loan Request page contains instructions internal to your organization that will not be sent to the bank with the Loan Request issue transaction.

The Internal Instructions section contains a text area for internal use text for the instrument. To enter the internal instructions text, type directly into the text area. This field can contain up to 1000 characters.
