Creating Transactions

To create a transaction, you must have create/modify security rights for the instrument  type that you want to create. When you create a transaction, you can choose to create a new instrument or create a new transaction for an existing instrument.


Creating a New Instrument

When you create a new instrument, you can either:

 


To create a transaction by copying from an existing instrument:

  1. Press the Create a Transaction button from any page on which it is available. This button is available from the Pending Transactions page, the Authorised Transactions page, the Instrument History page, the Instrument Summary page, and the Home page.

    The New Transaction, Step 1 page appears.

  2. Select Create an instrument, select a bank branch for the new instrument, then select Copy from an existing instrument.

  3. Press Next Step to continue through the transaction creation process. The process will require you to select an existing instrument before displaying the transaction form for you to complete.
     

  1. Complete all sections of the transaction form, then press Save & Close to save the new transaction and redisplay the page from which you initiated the new transaction.

  1. Press the Create a Transaction button from any page on which it is available. This button is available from the Pending Transactions page, the Authorised Transactions page, the Instrument History page, the Instrument Summary page, and the Home page.

    The New Transaction, Step 1 page appears.

  2. Select Create an instrument, select a bank branch for the new instrument, then select Copy from an existing template.

  3. Press Next Step to continue through the transaction creation process. The process will require you to select an existing template before displaying the transaction form for you to complete.

  4. Complete all sections of the transaction form, then press Save & Close to save the new transaction and redisplay the page from which you initiated the new transaction.

To create a transaction by using a blank form for the new instrument:

  1. Press the Create a Transaction button from any page on which it is available. This button is available from the Pending Transactions page, the Authorised Transactions page, the Instrument History page, the Instrument Summary page, and the Home page.

    The New Transaction, Step 1 page appears.

  2. Select Create an instrument, select a bank branch for the new instrument, then select Use a blank form for the new <Select instrument type>.

  3. Press Next Step to display the blank form for the transaction type selected.

  4. Complete all sections of the transaction form, then press Save & Close to save the new transaction and redisplay the page from which you initiated the new transaction.

To create a transaction by transferring an Export Letter of Credit:

  1. Press the Create a Transaction button from any page on which it is available. This button is available from the Pending Transactions page, the Authorised Transactions page, the Instrument History page, the Instrument Summary page, and the Home page.

    The New Transaction, Step 1 page appears.

  2. Select Create an instrument, select a bank branch for the new instrument, then select Transfer an existing Export Letter of Credit.

  3. Press Next Step to continue through the transaction creation process. The process will require you to select an existing Export Letter of Credit instrument before displaying the transaction form for you to complete.

  4. Complete all sections of the transaction form, then press Save & Close to save the new transaction and redisplay the page from which you initiated the new transaction.

Creating a New Transaction for an Existing Instrument

When you create a new transaction for an existing instrument, information from the instrument is copied into the appropriate fields on the new transaction.

To create a new transaction for an existing instrument:

  1. Press the Create a Transaction button from any page on which it is available. This button is available from the Pending Transactions page, the Authorised Transactions page, the Instrument History page, the Instrument Summary page, and the Home page.

    The New Transaction, Step 1 page appears.

  2. Select Create a New Transaction (for an existing instrument), then press Next Step to continue through the transaction creation process. Depending on where you initiated the process, you may be required to select an existing instrument and/or a transaction type before the transaction form displays.

  3. Complete all sections of the transaction form, then press Save & Close to save the new transaction and redisplay the page from which you initiated the new transaction.
