How Do I Configure My Browser?

Specific settings must be defined in your web browser before the Trade Services system will operate properly. This help topic includes information on configuring Internet Explorer and configuring Netscape.


Configuring Internet Explorer

This section includes directions for configuring Internet Explorer in the Windows operating system.

To configure Internet Explorer:
  1. Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.

    The Internet Options dialog box displays.

  2. Press the Security tab, then press the Custom Level... button.

    The Security Settings dialog box displays.

  3. Scroll down to the Cookies section and select Enable under Allow per-session cookies (not stored).

  4. Scroll down to the Scripting section and select Enable under Active Scripting. This enables JavaScript for your browser.

    If you will also be  viewing document images or performing custom reporting, you should also select Enable under Scripting of Java Applets.

  5. Press OK.

    The Internet Options dialog box displays.

  6. Press the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog box.

  7. Scroll down to the Printing section, then select the Print background colors and images checkbox.

  8. Press OK to close the Internet Options dialog box. For these new settings to take effect, you must close and reopen all instances of your browser.

 

 

 


Configuring Netscape

This section includes directions for configuring Netscape in Windows.

To configure Netscape:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.

    The Preferences dialog box displays.

  2. In the Category list on the left, click on the Appearance category, then the Fonts sub-category.

  3. Select Use document-specified fonts, including Dynamic fonts.

  4. Scroll down in the Category list, click on Advanced.

  5. Select the following checkboxes: Enable JavaScript and Enable style sheets. If you will also be  viewing document images or performing custom reporting, you should also select Enable Java.

    Under Cookies, select Accept Cookies or Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server.

  6. Press OK to close the Preferences dialog box. For these new settings to take effect, you must close and reopen all instances of your browser.
