New Transaction

The New Transaction page allows you to specify creation options for a new instrument and/or transaction. The fields and controls contained in the New Transaction page are described below.

Field/Control Description

Create an Instrument

Indicates that you want to create a new instrument. When selecting this option, you must select a bank branch, and then indicate a creation option for the instrument. To specify the bank branch, select one from the drop-down list containing the text <Select Bank Branch>.

To indicate a creation option, select one of the following option buttons:

  • Copy from an existing instrument - Allows you to copy data from an existing instrument to the first transaction for the new instrument. Selecting this option and pressing Next Step displays the Instrument Search page, where you select the instrument from which you want to copy data.

  • Copy from an existing template - Allows you to copy data from an existing template. Selecting this option and pressing Next Step displays the Template Search page, where you select the template from which to copy data.

  • Use a blank form for the new <Select Instrument type> - Allows you to create a new transaction using a blank transaction form. After selecting this option, select an instrument type from the drop-down list and press Next Step to display the blank instrument form.

  • Transfer an existing Export Letter of Credit - Allows you to issue a transfer transaction for an existing Export Letter of Credit instrument. Selecting this option and pressing Next Step displays the Instrument Search page, where you select the existing Export Letter of Credit for which to issue a transfer.

Create a New Transaction (for an existing instrument)

Indicates that you want to create a new transaction for an instrument that already exists in the system. Selecting this option and pressing Next Step displays the Instrument Search page, where you select the existing instrument for the new transaction.
